The next stands at about the distance of ten paces southward of the last mentioned, and on the same side of the road. It is of the middle size; the grave about four feet deep. The bones were almost gone; no appearance of a coffin. Nothing. This grave, though dug like the rest out of the chalk, was entirely filled with clay, which, from the hardness of it, appeared to have been rammed down.
