Middle-sized tumulus. The bones were almost gone; the coffin had passed the fire, and appeared to have been very thick. Near the neck were the five following beautiful pendants or ornaments for it, namely, a large and very beautiful dark red round stone [M 6619], set in gold, with a hoop of the same metal; another much smaller ovalish stone [M 6620], of a somewhat paler red, set also in gold, with a loop, its companion being in every respect like it, except that the stone was lost out when it was found [M 6621]; another small dark red stone, of an oval shape [M 6617], set in gold, with a loop; another triangular dark red stone, set also in gold [M 6618], with a loop like the rest; all of them of very neat and elegant workmanship. Here were also two amethysts, seven small beads, a brass pin for the hair, as I suppose, with a flatted head; and at the feet were two very pretty urns of white glass [M 6596 & M 6640], with sharpish bottoms and corded necks; they are both exactly alike, and are capable of containing rather more than half a pint. Here were also several small pieces of iron. A woman's grave, about four feet deep.
