My father, Arthur Messer, was awarded the Military Cross for service in the Royal Artillery in World War 2. He landed on Juno Beach on 7th June 1944, and fought in France, Belgium and Germany. He liberated the town of Saint-Pierre-en-Port near Fecamp.
