Bone comb, length 17.5cm. Single sided, with humped back. Constructed as usual with two curving plates, round upper surfaces, bolted together and to inner plate by means of 9 rivets. Decorated with transverse pairs of grooves making panels: centre one with diagonal cross-hatching, next four with chevrons in upper part filled with ring-and-dot punch marks, ring-and-dot also down sides; transverse grooves at ends with diagonal grooves arranged herring-bone-wise. Groove along top and bottom and space outside filled with diagonal cross-hatching. Other side of comb similar but not quite identical: one panel of chevron work missing, spoiling pattern. Teeth cut from middle plate on one side only, after comb made up - saw cuts run across on top of cross-hatching. Along back plate cut off along line of back, except at ends where it projects diagonally up and out, and in centre where there appears to have been a projection. Slightly damaged, some teeth missing.
