Double-sided bone comb, l. 10.9cm. Functional part cut from big plate of bone. 2 thick rectangular ended reinforcing plates, decorated with engraved lines and a pattern of concentric-ring-and-dot ornament; two large dot-and-rings in centre, then 2 ring-and-dot at either end, 2 in line ahead 2 in either corner. 6 bronze rivets. Teeth cut after the whole bolted together: saw cuts apparent on edge of reinforcing plates. Teeth finer one side than other.Mayer Card gives no provenance. Uncertain whether Rolfe or Faussett collection.
