My father lived in London during the Blitz. He lived at 4 Richmond Avenue, Merton. On 19 September 1940 the air-raid warning sirens went off between 20:00 – 20:30. As soon as the sirens went off my grandad went straight to the Anderson shelter in the back garden. His mum, uncles Bert and Harry, aunty Flo and cousins Berty and Eric were all in there. Bombs began to fall at around 21:00.

See attached file for more information and photographs relating to the crash.
