A Brief Memory of My Father in Burma

I have my father's lucky rupee. It saved his life in Burma during the Second World War. A bullet - one of many fired at him by a Japanese soldier - pierced his shirt pocket, went through a cigarette tin, a Bible, and was then stopped by a rupee coin resting at the bottom. If it had not been there the bullet would have entered his heart.
