Harold Lewis Tatham was born in Leeds in 1884. He joined the Honourable Artillery Company in May 1917. Harold was commissioned in the Welsh Guards in 1918 where he was a 2nd Lieutenant regimental number 10847; he served in France. He applied for his medals in January 1924.

The family brought in a swagger stick from O T C which is at Cuckerhouse School, Surrey. Queens Regiment, West Surrey. There was also a sewing kit where the name tags were sewn by Harold's mother. There is also a Ceremonial Sword which is in the possession of Andrew's brother in Australia.

The family believe Harold was gassed during the war and died as a result of this in the 1930s.
