Jan Linley is the Granddaughter of William H Baker. He was a prisoner of war but in which camp or country is not known. William was a Private in the Machine Gun Corps and his regiment number was 125662. The family do not know where he served nor where he was captured. Not much is known about William but the family have a letter from the War Office stating that he was missing in action but they later had a letter from Buckingham Palace (which we have photographed/scanned) stating that he was being released. It does not give any information on which camp he was being released from. William had told the family that he had escaped from a Prisoner of War camp but this has not been confirmed.
