8916: Cpl Christopher Jones, South Wales Borderers

Corporal Christopher Jones served in the 24th Foot, 1st Battalion, South Wales Borderers. He enlisted in 1914 and served in Northern France. He had worked in Cheltenham but returned to Wales to register in Brecon.

He was killed on 19 December 1914 and is buried in a military cemetery near Calais. His wife moved to Wales to live with Christopher's family.

Christopher was awarded medals but his family sent them back because they were upset over his death.
