The copy has pen annotations in Gurney's hand indicating where each poem was written. Gurney notes that 'Dicky' was written in Edinburgh, and 'The Day of Victory' was written in Gloucester on the 'Night after 'Vichy Day''.

Gurney notes that 'The Day of Victory' was written in Gloucester on the 'Night after 'Vichy Day'' and that the poem 'Needs amplifying', and 'Passionate Earth' was also written at Gloucester.
