The right hand page contains an early draft of what was initially titled 'Girls Song' but which was later renamed 'The Tryst'. Included in 'War's Embers' (1919). Written while Gurney was a patient at the Middlesex War Hospital. Found in a coverless notebook used by Gurney from late August to mid-September 1918.
