Manuscript in pencil with corrections in ink and pencil in Ivor Gurney's hand of a poem here titled 'Girls Song' but which was later to be titled 'The Tryst'. Under the title given here the poem was sent to Marion Scott in a letter of 10 September 1918. Included in 'War's Embers' (1919). Found in a coverless notebook used by Gurney from late August to mid-September 1918.
