8725: The Tallest Soldier

<p dir="ltr">Harry Barter came from Littlehempston near Totnes, Devon, he was born in 1892. Harry was renowned for being the tallest serving soldier in the British Army in WWI, being 6 foot 9 inches. He served as a Grenadier Guard in France. When he was wounded they had to make a special hospital bed for him. He was relieved from active service and was a carpenter in the Labour Corps.</p>
