George, known as 'Gentleman's George' worked for a doctor/surgeon as a 'Gentleman's Gentleman'. He died on the first day of the Somme and has an unmarked grave.
Charles died of gunshot wounds at St Omer. He died at a military hospital.
Joshua died in the 1930s of his war wounds.
George, Charles and Joshua all fought as part of the Norfolk Regiment.
Billy was a driver for the Royal Artillery, and looked after the horses. He was later a gardener at Thiepval Memorial and worked alongside Edwin Lutyens. Billy is the grandfather of the contributor.
The brothers came from an agricultural family at Seething and Brooke in Norfolk.
