865: Two great-grandfathers who survived the war.

online resource

Often young men went to fight before they had children and so it is very common, when tracing relatives' war stories, to research great uncles who died. In this case, both of the contributor's great-grandfathers survived the war. Included among these artefacts is an honourable discharge certificate: William Edward Prosser went missing in action, presumed dead. He was later found in a London hospital around six months later and invalided out of the war.
