8374: SMLE .303 MK 1, 17 Bayonet, Wilkinson manufacturer

This item No 06 was purchased at Auction in 2000-2001. The blade is by Wilkinson made in 1907. The handle is 1907 fitted. The scabbard (slightly worn) is 1907, and the item was issued from reserve stack and fitted to the 1939 MECo*.

Webbing pattern 1939 Frog. pre-Dunkirk, post Dunkirk the No. 4 rifle took over from the SMLE (Short Magazine Lee Enfield .303 " Rifle (* MECo Mills Equipment Company).
