David Buchan Warden was killed in action on March 22nd, 1918 in Flanders during The Spring Offensive; Germany's last attempt at victory.

The great uncle of contributor Robert Donaldson, David Buchan Warden was never mentioned until Robert 'aged seven ' overheard his parents speaking of him.

Over many years, Robert Donaldson has researched David Buchan Warden's life, and has written a book to honour him.
