<p dir="ltr">Lieutenant William Alan Ure, grandson of Lord Provost of Glasgow and nephew of Lord Strathclyde, died as the results of wounds received in action at the age of 23.</p> <p>His brother, Colin McGregor Ure, was then a Prisoner of War in Germany, and had been for two years.</p>

A mourning card from the Ure family thanking people for their sympathy following the death of their son. The card was bought at a sale by a collector of wartime memorabilia. Two newspaper cuttings, one from the Evening Times, confirming details of Lieutenant Ure's death were subsequently discovered.
