Douglas George McLennan was my great uncle. He was born on 29/05/1895 at Banchory Ternan, Kincardineshire, Scotland, the son of William McLennan and Mary Black McLennan née McGillivray. They lived at Rosebank Cottage, Banchory Ternan.

Douglas George McLennan was in the Gordon Highlanders with service numbers 3505 and 290867. He went to France on 04/12/1915 and was discharged on 31/04/1919.

His brothers Sidney Charles, William and James Alexander also served in the war. William died but the others survived.
