<p dir="ltr">Edward Carter (my mother's father), who was conscripted at 18 from South Wales where his family were all miners. </p> <p>Luckily for him the war ended within a short time of him arriving in France - so no stories, except that he had seen quite enough of 'abroad' so refused ever to go again.</p>
