William Alexander Dallas was my husband's grandfather. He was born on 18/04/1884 at Stonehaven, Kincardineshire, Scotland to William Dallas and Ann Dallas née Adam. He married Helen Clark Easton on 26/06/1909 at Stonehaven. He served in the Highland Light Infantry with service number 355403. William Alexander Dallas lost his life on 2nd December, 1917, and is commemorated in the Aberdeen City Roll of Honour. He is also commemorated at Tyne Cot Memorial, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. I have two group photographs taken c. 1916. I also have a photograph of him taken pre-war and another that includes him. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission website has information about him.
