<p dir="ltr">Mona Beryl Rogers was born on the 5th February 1896. She was educated at Neath County Grammar School. She joined up early on in the war and worked as a nurse at Neath Hospital. </p><p dir="ltr">David Richard Howells had been at school with Mona and joined up at a similar time. He served in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers and survived the war. He spent a year in the Indian Army and carried out legal work during the Second World War. Mona and David married after the war.</p>
