7293: Henry Smith Craven

Henry Smith Craven was a clerk in the Civil Service who became a purser on the SS Orduna, an ocean liner built in 1913-14 by Harland and Wolff in Belfast for the Pacific Steam Navigation Company. Henry, who was responsible for navigating the ship, sailed across the Atlantic and spoke four languages. He died around 1916.
