Manuscript in ink in Siegfried Sassoon's hand. This is a clean draft without corrections, written on Craiglockhart War Hospital stationary. Published in 'Counter-Attack and Other Poems' (1918). This poem was also published in the 'Cambridge Magazine' in December 1917.
