Manuscript in ink in Edmund Blunden's hand. Corrections in ink. Published in 'The Shepherd', (1922) and 'Undertones of War' (1928). Various drafts of the poem survive. The subject of the poem is the attack at Passchendaele on 31 July 1917 and the proceeding days.
