Manuscript in ink in Edmund Blunden's hand. Corrections also in ink. Published as 'Gouzeaucourt: The Deceitful Calm' in 'Undertones of War' (1928). Refers to the point after Blunden was taken out of the Passchendaele battle in January 1918, and were sent down to the 5th Army Front which would be overrun by the Germans on 21 March 1918 during the St Michael's offensive, after Blunden had returned to England. Written on the reverse of New Zealand Government Office paper.
