Shearing in uniform, pasted below an official flier describing his various acts of courage and military medal earned while a private with the 11th Battalion Royal Sussex Regiment; G. Salter pictured with his officers and NCOs in early 1917; and Edmund Blunden in uniform, photographed at Poperinghe, December 1916. The book was compiled by Edmund Blunden with the intention of providing complementary photographs supporting the narrative and poems of 'Undertones of War' (1928), and was inscribed 'E.B.
