Manuscript in pen in Ivor Gurney's hand. This is a different version to the one found in P.J. Kavanagh's 'Ivor Gurney: Collected Poems' (2004), after a surviving typescript draft of the poem. Found in a green hard-covered manuscript exercise book, marked 'The Note Book / (between music makings) / of Ivor Gurney / 1921-1922 / 'corrected Feb 1925' / 'Ivor Gurney''.
