Manuscript in pen in Marion Scott's hand. Part of the 'Hospital Pictures' series. After manuscript drafts in the black manuscript notebook 52.1, in which the poem is titled 'Nurses', and a draft sent in an envelope dated 17th November 1917 to Scott. Possibly written while Ivor Gurney was on a signalling course at Seaton Delaval, Northumberland. Included in 'War's Embers' (1919).
