Manuscript in pen in Marion Scott's hand. A pencil draft of the poem can be found in the green manuscript notebook 64.6, as well as in a letter of September 1918 to Marion Scott. Entitled here as 'Girl's Song' the poem was later published 'The Tryst (To W. M. C.)'. Written while Gurney was a patient at the Middlesex War Hospital.
