Manuscript in pen in Marion Scott's hand with Ivor Gurney's corrections in pencil. Manuscript included in a letter of 31st July 1917 to Scott. Another draft exists in the 'Canon' manuscript exercise book 52.5. The poem was published in 'The Westminster Gazette' in June 1918. Included in 'War's Embers' (1919).
