Manuscript in pen in Marion Scott's hand. Exists in another fair copy dated 'St Albans September 1918'. Ivor Gurney asked Marion Scott's opinion of the poem in a letter of September 1918. Written while Gurney was a patient at Middlesex War Hospital. Included in 'War's Embers' (1919).
