Manuscript in pen in Marion Scott's hand. Various versions of the poem exists in the small black notebook 64.5.7 and from a fair copy made by Ivor Gurney dated 'Warrington July 1918'. Written while Gurney was a patient at Lord Derby's War Hospital. Included in 'War's Embers' (1919).
