Typescript of poem prepared by Marion Scott, and possibly amongst those poems submitted to and rejected by the firm Sidgwick and Jackson in 1922. Various versions of the poem survive, including another from a preceding notebook that begins 'France has Victory...'. A version of the poem shown here, including altered stanza breaks, was first published in 'The London Mercury' in August 1934, and was included in P.J. Kavanagh's 'Ivor Gurney: Collected Poems' (2004).
