<p dir="ltr">Typescript without alterations. Prepared by Marion Scott, and possibly amongst those poems submitted to and rejected by the firm Sidgwick and Jackson in 1922. The earlier version included in P.J. Kavanagh's 'Ivor Gurney: Collected Poems' (2004) shows substantial differences in lines 16 and 17, as well as the absence of two inserted lines and a final couplet.</p>
