Appreciation of Nancy Graves but particularly Edward Marsh as a critic of Robert Graves' work, as well as Jones Bateman and Ralph Rooper, both killed in the war / desire for comments on some poems being sent to Marsh, including 'Pot and Kettle', 'Hawk and Buckle' and 'November 11' / the metre of a poem entitled 'Boots' / difficulties of writing at home and whilst surrounded by soldiers.
