Envelope. Postmarked '26 JA 17'
Discusses learning to ride a motorcycle, that the Army Service Corps have arrived for the guns (four) and the heavy kit; packing the permitted 55lbs of personal items for the boat train.
Discusses transport to Portsmouth or Southampton; a new commander and poor weather.
Discusses the men naming their individual field guns; wearing of shoes instead of boots; and his minor irritations with another officer.
Discusses the large amount of paperwork he has; wishes his son goodbye and includes various family salutations, expresses the hope that Merfyn will not become a soldier before he returns.
