Envelope. Two postmarks: Passed Field Censor and Field Post Office. Postmarked '5 MR 17'.
Thomas wishes he did not smoke but that he does so through boredom. Discusses bicycles and motor bicycles.
Discusses the need the recognise the different sound of incoming and outgoing artillery fire, with the hope that his son never has to learn it, but conversely prompts him to join an OTC (Public School : Officers Training Corps). Notes that the snow causing problems in munition supplies and a problematic office typewriter.
