online resource
posted on 2024-04-19, 15:03 authored by First World War Poetry Digital Archive Project Team

Describes horrendous conditions of holding a dug-out in no man's land at Serre. An incident involving a blinded sentry is mentioned, which probably forms the basis for his poem 'The Sentry'. This is letter no. 480 in Ed. 'Wilfred Owen Collected Letters'.
