Lillian (Lily) Jane Weir was my great aunt. She served in Queen Mary's Army Auxiliary Corps with service number 20002. She was mentioned in a Despatch from Field Marshall Sir Douglas Haig dated 16th March 1919. There is a short article in the Aberdeen Journal - Friday 29 August 1919 about the mention in despatch. It says that she was a telegraphist and had been on service since 1917 at Abbeville, Boulogne and Calais. Previously she had been a telegraphist at Peterhead Post Office. She never married and died in the early 1920s.
