<p dir="ltr">Letter to daughter from John Eadie<br> Residue of Naval Assets (John Eadie)<br> Leith School Board, two certificates for David Abrahamson<br> Postcard, lowestoft<br> Patriotic card 'To Lottie from Dadda'<br> Photo x 2 John Eadie</p> <p>Photo group. the Eadie family:<br> Sophia, holding book<br> Agnes, oldest child<br> Charlotte, 2nd daughter<br> Johnny, son referred to in letter</p> <p>My grandfather John Eadie was lost on 2nd April 1916 when his minesweeper HMS Commandant struck a mine at Lowestoft.<br> The letter he sent to my mother was probably written the Christmas before he died. He refers to Zeppelins and he died the day they attacked Leith.</p> <p>He was a Leith man who married a Newhaven woman and lived in Newhaven at the time he died. The Family wrote letters to say they were OK, but he had died the same day.</p>
