online resource
posted on 2024-02-18, 21:43 authored by Great War Archive Project Team

Re-used postcard bearing a hand-coloured photograph of a man in German uniform and a woman dressed as Marianne, the emblem of the French republic. Above the image is a poem in French by Paul Chagnoux, entitled "L'Impossible Amour". On the back are two messages: one in French in black ink, and a second in blue, sent by Cecil Littlewood to one of his children (possibly Vincent). Part of a collection relating to Cecil Littlewood from Bingley in West Yorkshire.
