Note that a reference to an action: '...we have been in the thick of the scrap [...]' has been blanked out, presumably by the Censor (see envelope for Censor's stamp).

Trooper 1526 Evan Richard Jones, Household Battalion, was killed in action 3rd May 1917 aged 29. The son of Thomas and Elizabeth Jones, of "Gwyndy" 1, Hawarden Rd., Colwyn Bay, he is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
