<p dir="ltr">Letter sent by Captain Humphrey Buckley to Charles Green's mother breaking the news of his death. The first page is photographed with its envelope, and this is accompanied by a printed transcript of the whole letter. Part of a collection relating to Charles Green, who served as a machine gunner with the 7th Battalion of the East Yorkshire Regiment, and was killed on 8th February 1917, in the Somme area of France.</p>
