<p dir="ltr">My great grandfather's brother John Shellard was a talented artist and he kept a diary in which he drew cartoons of what he experienced in the First World War. </p> <p><br>Editor's Comment:<br> 1. 'We were only at ANZAC to be shot at'.<br> 2. '1. Mesopotamian Soldier before leave in India; 2. Same soldier after leave'.<br> 3. 'A ringside gathering waiting for the Boxing Contest held on board the Transport "Menominee" at sea. <br> 4. 'Palestine, the "Un"Holyhand'.</p> <p>Gunner 90562 John G. Shellard, Royal Field Artillery.</p>
