My great grandfather's brother John Shellard was a talented artist and he kept a diary in which he drew cartoons of what he experienced in the First World War.

Editor's Comment:
1. 'We were only at ANZAC to be shot at'.
2. '1. Mesopotamian Soldier before leave in India; 2. Same soldier after leave'.
3. 'A ringside gathering waiting for the Boxing Contest held on board the Transport "Menominee" at sea.
4. 'Palestine, the "Un"Holyhand'.
