The soldiers had been invited to the home of R.H. Nield a local businessman; he was a piano merchant in Stockport. Five of the ladies/girls in the photo are his daughters. They are photographed in the garden. Phyllis Nield married, in 1925, Jack Morten who wrote letters from the War which were published as "I remain Your Son, Jack". This book is now out of print.
