Sent from the training camp just before the battalion set out for Southampton en route for the Sudan.

Ediror's Comment: Postcard with caption: 'Ready, Eye Ready! For Defence of Hearth and Home'. White Ensign, cruiser, Royal Navy Rating.

Pte. 2393 John Clarke Morten, 1/7th Bn. Manchester Regiment, was commissioned Second Lieutenant and later attached to the Royal Air Force.
