A long letter from Dr W.R. Blore M.C. RAMC sent on 10th May 1917, from France to his 'Dad'. It describes the destruction by the Germans of property etc. as they retired from the sector he is in, and the return of civilians searching for property they buried before they fled from the original German advance. This includes one man who came to see what had become of 400 bottles of brandy he had buried in his garden!

Also part of this collection are all Blore's letters home, his notebooks from his service as a doctor at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli, and on the Western Front - as well as his sleeping bag and many other artefacts including a photo of Blore outside his dugout at Suvla Bay.
