1914/15 Star, War and Victory medals with ribbons. Includes the letter sent to his widow accompanying the 1914-15 star.


Editor's Comment:
Pte. 17482 Thomas James Shortman, 1st Bn. Somerset Light Infantry, killed in action 1st July 1916, aged 44. The husband of Clara Ann Shortman, of 14, Dapps Hill, Keynsham, Bristol, he is buried in Thistle Dump Cemetery, High Wood, Longueval. The 1st Bn., as part of the 4th Division, attacked between the villages of Serre and Beaumont Hamel on the first day of the Batlle of the Somme.
